Peter Monahan is a third generation hotelier. His great grandfather, George Mink founded the Belmar Hotel in Wildwood Crest, NJ in the 1930s. In 1995, Peter Monahan and his brothers purchased Quality Inn Larson's at General Lee's Headquarters complex in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Peter was the Managing Partner and General Manager for 17 years at the historic Quality Inn. During that time, the Quality Inn at General Lee's Headquarters was transformed into an award-winning Choice Hotel International property. In January of 2012, Peter sold his interest in the Quality Inn property and he and his wife Liz, a professor at Mount St. Mary's University, purchased the Meade School property in Gettysburg, Pa, transforming it into a charming historic inn.
